Argentine Tango

    About the Basic skills series:  8 Sessions in total --  Everyone benefits from the basics which
are the very foundation of the dance! 
   Introduction to and focus on tango basics, alignment,
grounding, walk, connection, musicality and improvisation and combinations.

This is what we cover:

Class 1: the walk, body alignment, connection, six-step combination
Class 2: la crusada (the cross), the embrace, eight step combination
Class 3: front ochos and combining with eight step combination
Class 4: ochos front and back, combination with back ocho; review
Class 5: syncopation, improvisation, 4, 6 and 8 step combinations using syncopation
Class 6: weight shift, parallel and cross systems; review combinations
Class 7: molinetes and giros (turns); and combination
Class 8: final review, dancing and improvising to the music


Ballroom Dancing: Basic Part A and Part B

        These classes offer a wonderful introduction to ballroom dancing.  You will learn the basic patterns and proper techniques in a fun, easygoing atmosphere while developing a stronger sense of self-confidence on the dance floor.  The dances you will learn include:
    Part A: Foxtrot, Rumba, Cha Cha, and Swing.
    Part B: Tango, Mambo, Samba and Waltz

Ballroom Dancing II 

        For those who have completed Basic Ballroom.  This course offers a complete review of all previous material reinforcing proper technique while adding additional figures.  New dances may be introduced at this time. 

Ballroom Dancing III 
   
For those who have completed Basic Ballroom and Ballroom Dancing II and are interested in continuing developing their social dancing skills.  This class will expand on basic technique and partnering skills while progressively introducing new figures.  In this class we concentrate on one dance at a time and move on to a new dance every 4 weeks.  This class is perfect for the intermediate dancer who absolutely cannot stay off the dance floor or get enough Ballroom Dance!! 

Belly Dance with Sarah

        Let Sarah introduce you to a timeless dance that can improve your coordination skills and strengthen your whole body.  People have long enjoyed the health benefits that come from this form of dance as they learn to isolate body parts and gain increased muscle control.  A truly invigorating and exciting form of dance. 

Hustle

        Learn this dance and enjoy the dance floor like you never imagined.  A dance that has stood the test of time.  Learn the basics right on through advanced techniques.

Salsa  and Merengue: Basic

        An introduction to club style Salsa and Merengue dancing once again with an emphasis on basic figures and
Latin dance technique. 

West Coast Swing: Basic , Intermediate  and Advanced

    Enjoy West Coast Swing at it's best.  Start with our Basic Class where you will learn the six basic patterns of the dance.  When you are ready, continue with the Intermediate Class where you will learn some essential variations, concepts and techniques.  Then move up to the Advanced Class where we add styling, musicality and fun variations to your dancing. Denis Riley and Lee Mansfield instruct and DJ these courses.
